Streetcar work to close Ft. Washington Way lanes

Streetcar work to close Fort Washington Way lanes

Hamilton County (Tuesday, March 31, 2015) –  Work to install a substation for the Cincinnati streetcar project will require closure of three of the four lanes of northbound Fort Washington Way to the Lytle tunnel.

Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, April 3, the ramps from northbound I-71/75 to northbound I-71 and eastbound US 50 will be closed. Traffic will have no access into the Lytle Tunnel from Fort Washington Way.  The Second Street entrance ramp will remain open as will I-71 north of the Lytle Tunnel. Traffic will be detoured north on I-75 to SR 562 to I-71. All lanes of Fort Washington Way are scheduled to reopen to traffic by 6 a.m. Saturday, April 4.

Arrow boards and signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming lane closures.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
