Traffic shift scheduled for next week on I-71/Lytle Tunnel project

Traffic shift scheduled next week for Interstate 71/Lytle Tunnel

Hamilton County (Wednesday, May 4, 2016) – Nightly lane closures will be in place to prepare for a traffic shift on Interstate 71 next week.

Various lane closures on southbound I-71 from East Liberty to just before the Lytle Tunnel beginning each night at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 11 through Friday, May 13, with all lanes reopen by 6 a.m. the following day. Traffic will be maintained and the Third Street ramp will remain in its current configuration.

Once complete Saturday morning (May 14), the two lanes of southbound I-71 going into the tunnel will be shifted to the west (right) side of the road. This traffic pattern will remain in place until further notice.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming lane closures and shift.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
