U.S. Route 50 lane
closure scheduled for bridge work
Hamilton
County
(Friday, Aug. 14, 2015) – Continuing concrete overlay work on U.S 50/6th
Street Expressway will require a lane closure next week.
Beginning
at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, the right lane of westbound U.S. 50 will be closed
between the Mehring Way exit and Evans Street for approximately ten days.
Traffic will be maintained and all work is weather dependent.
The concrete deck overlay and bridge
painting work currently being conducted on the northern Sixth St. Expressway
Bridge was originally part of the Waldvogel Viaduct project completed last
year. The work on the northern bridge was moved to this year because of delays
and unforeseen circumstances involving the Waldvogel Viaduct project. It is
expected to be completed in Summer 2016
Arrow
boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming lane
closure.
To
help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling
public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped
traffic while passing through the work zone.
