Update on US 42 Closure

                              U.S. 42 closure continues to March 2
Butler County (Friday, Feb. 24, 2012) – Culvert work requiring closure of U.S. 42 is on schedule with the roadway on target to reopen to traffic by the end of day, Friday, March 2.
Completion of the culvert work is expected Tuesday, Feb. 28. At that time, the closure will be relocated approximately 3,000 feet south on U.S. 42 for work on a 60-inch storm conduit. This closure will be located just north of the entrances to the Pisgah Youth Park baseball fields, 9116 Columbus-Cincinnati Road, and the West Chester Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 9117 Columbus-Cincinnati Road.  This work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m., Friday, March 2 with U.S. 42 reopened to traffic at this time.
Access to all addresses/businesses will continue to be maintained throughout the closure. Addresses north of the closure will be accessible from Butler-Warren Road and addresses south of the closure will be accessible from Cox Road. Northbound U.S. 42 traffic will be detoured north to Cox Road to east on Tylersville Road to U.S. 42. Southbound traffic will be detoured west to Tylersville Road to south on Cox Road to U.S. 42.
Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming road closure.
 To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
