I-275 Repaving and Bridge Work (PID 84492)I-275 Repaving and Bridge Work

 About the Project:

The $31 million construction project includes 1.6 miles of resurfacing on Interstate 275 from approximately Four-Mile Road to the Kentucky side of the Ohio River and rehabilitation of four twin bridges. The I-275 bridges involved are at Four-Mile Rd., Sutton Rd., Kellogg Ave. and Combs-Hehl.

Preliminary work on the project began May 14 with various shoulder closures on I-275 between Four Mile Road and Kellogg Avenue to construct temporary lighting and pavement. The project is expected to be completed by the end of August 2020.

The project will also utilize a contraflow configuration that begins on the Kentucky side of the Combs-Hehl Bridge and ends near Sutton Rd. in Ohio.

The initial contraflow alignment will begin in mid-June through mid- to late November 2018. Then in November 2018 the next phase of the contraflow configuration will be implemented until late spring/early summer 2019.

 What's a Contraflow:

A contraflow lane is a lane in which traffic travels on temporary pavement or existing shoulder in the opposite direction (against the flow) of the surrounding lanes. This single lane is separated from the opposite flowing traffic by temporary concrete barriers.
