I-71 resurfacing from Lytle Tunnel to just south of I-275
Current Status: Various ongoing lane closures on north and south I-71 through the completion of the projects.
I-71 (PID 82975) resurfacing/bridge work both northbound and southbound from north of the Lytle Tunnel to the overhead railroad bridge north of SR 562/Norwood Lateral (approximately 5 miles). Repaving and slide repairs from the Lytle Tunnel to McMillan St. is underway. Repaving between Ridge Rd. and Victory Parkway has been completed. Repaving between McMillan St. and Victory Parkway was completed with the new I-71/MLK interchange project.
I-71 (PID 91826) repaving and bridge deck replacement of Stewart Rd. Bridge and minor rehab of other bridges from the overhead railroad bridge north of SR 562/Norwood Lateral to SR 126/Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway (approximately 5.5 miles).
- Began: Spring 2018 – Estimated completion: late Summer 2021.
- Construction Cost: $36 million.
I-71 (PID 94741) widening to three continuous through lanes between the SR 562/Norwood Lateral interchange and Red Bank Expressway, removes the northbound Ridge Road exit and adds a northbound I-71 exit to Kennedy Avenue.
I-71 (PID 84491) resurfacing from SR 126/Ronald Regan Cross County Highway to just south of I-275 at the Deerfield Road bridge (approximately 3 miles).
