Adams-247 Paving Project Getting Under Way
Chillicothe (Monday, August 8, 2016) – Construction on state Route 247 in Adams County will get under way this week, with a nearly 10-mile paving project.
Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9 will be applying a microsurfacing treatment to S.R. 247, from the route’s intersection with S.R. 41 (Main Street) in the village of West Union to S.R. 32 at Seaman.
Throughout construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane and maintained by flaggers when crews are at work. Motorists may encounter temporary periods of delay in the construction zone, and they are reminded to reduce their speed and of the need for additional caution when traveling through these and other work zones.
Strawser Construction Incorporated was awarded a contract in the amount of $645,628 to complete the project, and all work is anticipated to be finished in early fall.
