Adams-52 Bridge Replacement To Get Under Way This Month
Single-lane restrictions set to begin July 18
Chillicothe (Friday, July 8, 2016) – With the summer construction program is heating up, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are set to begin a bridge replacement project this month on U.S. Route 52 in Adams County.
On Monday, July 18, crews from Complete General Construction will start construction to replace a structure at the 12.49-mile marker. The existing bridge, which is situated over Donaldson Creek, is a single-span concrete beam bridge, and it will be replaced with a similar structure in a design-build project.
The project site is located between Township Road 285 (Lindsey Hollow Road) and T.R. 59 (Buckeye Station Road), approximately 4.5 miles east of S.R. 136 in Manchester, and throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot lane with the use of temporary signals.
The Complete General Construction Company was awarded a contract for approximately $897,254 to replace the bridge, and all work is anticipated to be completed in early fall. Motorists are advised of the need for additional caution in the work zone.
