Adams-73 Closed Due To Flooding
Bloom-Furnace Lane In Scioto County Closed
Chillicothe (Wednesday, January 30, 2013) – State Route 73 in Adams County has been closed this afternoon due to flooding.
The route is closed near the 13.9-mile marker, between County Road 18 (Jaybird Road) and the Adams-Scioto County line, and while it is not known how long the route will be closed, the closure is anticipated to be in effect throughout tomorrow, January 31.
Motorists may detour via routes on the state highway system; however, they are cautioned that creek, stream and ditch waters can rise quickly, and while crossing any closed route is strictly prohibited, they need to exercise additional caution when traveling over any route which remains open but where standing water may be present.

In addition to the Adams-73 closure, Township Road 290 (Bloom Furnace Lane) in Scioto County has been closed due to a collapsed culvert. The road is closed immediately south of its junction with S.R. 140, east of South Webster. ODOT crews will be working to restore the road in the coming week; however, motorists will be detoured via County Road 291 (Bloom Furnace Road) and S.R. 140.
