Additional Improvement Slated
On S.R. 93 In Jackson
Chillicothe (Thursday, August 17, 2017) – As part of a larger reconstruction improvement
project on state Route 93 in the city of Jackson, additional repairs and
pavement work will get under way next week, with a section of the route
closing to traffic.
S.R. 93 (Main Street) will be
closed at its intersection with Bridge Street for
pavement, curb and sidewalk restoration and repairs. Although crews will
begin work on Monday, August 21, the closure will go into effect on Tuesday,
the 22nd, and while the intersection is closed, motorists will be
detoured locally in the city by way of Water, Portsmouth and Pearl streets.
The additional work is part of a
reconstruction project that took place on Main Street in the spring and early summer months, in which the contractors
have installed curbs and sidewalks, placed asphalt and replaced
drainage lines between Portsmouth and Bridge streets.
BUDS, Inc. was
awarded a contract for approximately $873,345 to reconstruct S.R. 93, and the
remainder of the project is scheduled to be completed by mid-September.
Motorists are reminded
of the need for additional caution when traveling through these and other
work zones, and for additional information on lane and road closures caused
by construction, accidents, flooding or other related traffic events
