Area Routes Affected By Flooding
Chillicothe (Wednesday, July 21, 2010) - The following routes on the state and federal highway system in Lawrence County have been closed by the Ohio Department of Transportation due to flooding:
• State Route 93, near C.R. 45 (Norris Branch Road) and approximately 3.5 miles north of Ironton;
• State Route 93, between S.R. 522 at Lisman and S.R. 373; and
• State Route 650 at C.R. 43 (Kelley’s Mill Road) and at S.R. 522;
• S.R. 775, south of T.R. 223 (Mounts Branch Road) and S.R. 217.
Highway water is also being reported at other locations on S.R. 775, south of Scottown, and on S.R. 243 near Getaway.
While these closures are in effect until further notice, motorists must follow posted detours or seek alternate routes where no detour has been posted. They are also reminded that crossing any route which has been closed is strictly prohibited, and motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution when crossing any route which remains open but where standing water may be present.
