Area Routes Affected By Heavy Storms
Chillicothe (Friday, May 21, 2010 – 10:15 p.m.) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation's facilities in Adams and Highland counties have been dispatched to patrol routes for possible high water and clear debris left from tonight's storms.
Heavy rains and high winds have left many roadways covered with debris, and flash flooding could occur or standing water may be present on routes adjacent to culverts and ditches that have become obstructed by the debris.
Routes remain open at this time; however, closure due to flooding, downed trees, mud and debris may become necessary as the night progresses. Motorists are reminded to exercise extreme caution when traveling during any storm event, and they are advised of the potential for road closures.
