Bald Knob Road Closing For Bridge Replacement
Chillicothe (Thursday, July 28, 2011) – Construction will get under way next week for a bridge replacement project on County Road 70 in Highland County.
Working with the Highland County Engineer’s Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation has awarded a contract to DGM Incorporated to replace a bridge on Bald Knob Road, and construction is scheduled to begin Monday, August 1.
The bridge to be replaced is situated over Turtle Creek at the 0.30-mile marker, between County Road 11 (Sharpsville Road) and state Route 124, and the existing structure will be replaced with a three-span, prestressed concrete box beam bridge.
Throughout most construction, the route will be closed, and motorists will be detoured via Sharpsville Road and S.R. 124.
DGM, Inc., of Beaver, Ohio, was awarded a contract in the amount of $826,446 to replace the bridge and the scheduled completion date for all work is October 31.
