Bridge Repair Project Set To Begin On S.R. 753
Route to be closed next month
Chillicothe (Wednesday, February 25, 2015) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are preparing for a bridge replacement project on state Route 753 in Highland County, with construction getting under way early next month.
Crews from Coopers Excavating will be replacing the bridge situated over Opossum Run and located at the 16.75-mile marker on S.R. 753, approximately one mile south of Greenfield. More specifically, the project site is located between Township Road 357 (Rupple Road) and T.R. 360B (Titus Road), and construction includes replacing the structure’s timber deck and steel beams, as well as constructing new approach slabs and installing new guardrail.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, March 9, and the route will be closed to traffic during most of the project. While it is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 50 at Rainsboro, S.R. 41 at Bainbridge and S.R. 28 in Greenfield.
Coopers Excavating of Winchester, Ohio was awarded a contract in the amount of $400,403.10 to replace the bridge, and all work is expected to be completed in early summer.
