Bridge Replacement Set For County Road 43
Preliminary Operations To Begin Monday
Chillicothe (Saturday, March 18, 2017) – Construction for a bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin on County Road 43 (Jasper Road) in Pike County, with preliminary operations getting under way next week.
Weather permitting, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Pike County Engineer’s Office will begin clearing and grubbing on Monday, March 20, in advance of construction to replace the structure situated over Sugar Run on Jasper Road.
The project site is just south of the Jasper Road junction with C.R. 42 (Sugar Run Road), and construction calls for a design-build project to replace the single-span concrete slab bridge.
During the first phase of the project, most work will be conducted off the road, so there should be little impact to motorists, and traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Once work begins on the bridge, Jasper Road will be reduced to one lane, and traffic will be maintained by signals.
BUDS, Incorporated was awarded a contract for approximately $491,000 to replace the bridge, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early summer.
