Bridge Replacement Set To Begin On Brown-505
Route to be closed for up to 60 days
Chillicothe (Monday, August 17, 2015) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are preparing for a bridge replacement project on state Route 505 in Brown County, with construction getting under way next week.
Crews from Coopers Excavating will be replacing a bridge located at the 7.24-mile marker on S.R. 505, between S.R. 756 and County Road 84 (Feesburg-Poetown Road). Construction includes replacing the existing corrugated metal arch structure that is over the Middle Branch of Bullskin Creek with a four-sided, pre-cast concrete box culvert and full-height wingwalls.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, August 24, and the route will be closed to traffic for up to 60 days. While it is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of C.R. 42 (Love Road) and C.R. 18 (Eden Road).
Coopers Excavating of Winchester, Ohio was awarded a contract in the amount of $304,522.69 to replace the bridge, and weather permitting, all work should be completed in late October.
