Bridge Replacement Set To Begin On U.S. 52
Adams County To Be Reduced To One, 10-Foot Lane During Project
Chillicothe (Thursday, July 21, 2011) – Preliminary operations and utility relocation are under way on U.S. Route 52 in Adams County, where contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are set to mobilize crews later this month for a bridge replacement project.
Crews from Sunesis Construction Company will be replacing a bridge near the one-mile marker, between the Adams-Brown County line and County Road 11 (Ginger Ridge Road), according to ODOT District 9 Deputy Director Vaughn Wilson.
As construction gets under way next week, lane restrictions are anticipated to be in effect the week of August 1, and throughout the project, traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot lane with the use of temporary traffic signals.
Sunesis Construction Company was awarded a contract in the amount of $1.34 million to replace the structure, and the scheduled completion date is September 30, 2011.
