Bridge Replacement Set To Begin On U.S. 62
Restrictions in place first week of April
Chillicothe (Friday, March 31, 2017) – With the 2017 construction season under way throughout the state, a bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin on U.S. Route 62 in Brown County in early April, with restrictions going into effect next week.
Crews from Cox Paving, LLC will be replacing the culvert situated over the West Fork of Ohio Brush Creek and located at the 29.11-mile marker on U.S. 62. The project site is between Township Road 58 (Wilson Road) and County Road 95 (Stivers Road), just south of the Highland County line, and construction includes replacing the corrugated metal culvert with a concrete box, as well as roadway repairs and embankment work
Work is scheduled to begin Monday, April 3, and during construction, the route will be reduced to one, 11-foot lane, with traffic maintained by temporary signals.
Cox Paving of Leesburg, Ohio was awarded a contract in the amount of $432,287 to replace the structure, and all work is expected to be completed in early summer.

The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable federal environmental laws for these projects are being, or have been, carried out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated December 11, 2015, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
