Bridge Replacement To Get Under Way At East Monroe
Culvert replacement scheduled for
Chillicothe (Monday, May 29, 2017) – A bridge replacement
is set to begin on state Route 28 in Highland County, with contractors for the
Ohio Department of Transportation starting construction Monday, June 5.
Throughout the summer and fall
construction season, crews from Shelly and Sands, Incorporated will be
replacing a structure at the 10.41-mile marker on S.R. 28, between Leesburg and
Greenfield. The project site is situated between County Road 15 (Barger Road)
and C.R. 47 (Martinsburg Road), immediately west of Township Road 376 (Wilson
Road) in the community of East Monroe.
The route will be closed for up to 150
days beginning Monday, and while it is closed, truck and thru-traffic motorists
will be detoured via S.R. 771 and S.R. 138. A secondary detour will also be
assigned for local motorists.
Shelly and Sands, Inc. was awarded a
contract for $1,669,080, and all work is scheduled to be completed by November
