Bridge Street Preservation Slated To Begin
Restrictions In Effect Next Week
Chillicothe (Tuesday, April 26, 2016) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation are scheduled to begin a preservation project in Ross County, with the resurfacing of state Route 159 (Bridge Street) in Chillicothe.
Crews from the Shelly Company will be resurfacing Bridge Street beginning at the intersection of Marietta Road, just north of the U.S. 35 interchange, and continuing north to the intersections of County Road 11 (Hospital Road) and C.R. 553 (Kenworth Road). The project also includes the construction of ramps, installation of detector loops, and minor structure repair.
Construction will begin Monday, May 2, and traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction. Motorists may encounter periods of delay, especially during peak travel times, and they are reminded of the need for additional caution in the work zone.
The Shelly Company was awarded a contract for approximately $1.51 million to resurface S.R. 159, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early summer.
