Bridge Work Scheduled To Begin On Franklin Valley Road
Chillicothe (Friday, August 12, 2015) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Jackson County Engineer’s Office will undertake a bridge replacement project on Township Road 13 (Franklin Valley Road), with restrictions going into effect next week.
Crews from Double Z Construction will be replacing the single-span, rolled steel beam bridge over Blackfork Creek that is located at the 1.37-mile marker, north of state Route 279 and west of Oak Hill in Jefferson Township.
Construction is scheduled to begin Wednesday, August 17, with Franklin Valley Road being closed to traffic for up to 75 days. While the route is closed, motorists will be detoured by way of S.R. 279, Franklin Valley Road, C.R. 16 (Dan T. Davis Road), C.R. 19 (Horton Sisters Road) and C.R. 12 (Antioch Road).
The Double Z Construction Company was awarded a contract in the amount of $438,133 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in mid to late fall.
