Chillicothe (Monday, July 11, 2011) – With preliminary operations already under way, construction for a bridge replacement on U.S. Route 50 in Ross County is set to begin, and lane restrictions will be imparted next week.
Crews from Shelly and Sands Construction will be replacing a bridge located at the 36.79-mile marker on U.S. 50. The project site is located between County Road 207 (Vigo Road) and Township Road 219 (Dixon Mill Road), just west of the Vinton County line.
Construction is set to begin Monday, July 11, and throughout the project, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of temporary traffic signals.
Shelly and Sands, Inc. has been awarded a contract for approximately $2.78 million to replace the bridge and reconstruct the approaches, and the scheduled completion date is September 30, 2012.
