Bridge Replacement Slated To Begin On Cave Road
Closure Going Into Effect Next Week
Chillicothe - Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 Deputy Director James A. Brushart has announced plans for a bridge replacement project to get started next week on Cave Road in Highland County.
“This bridge replacement is necessary for the preservation of the route, as well as for the safety of the traveling public, and working with the Highland County Engineer’s Office, it is part of the department's commitment to assist local communities maintain their infrastructure,” said Brushart.
Located just south of U.S. Route 50 and approximately two miles north of Township Road 309A (Browning Road), the bridge to be replaced is situated on Township Road 259 (Cave Road) over a tributary to Rocky Fork Creek in Paint Township.
Weather permitting, crews from the Righter Company of Columbus, Ohio, will begin construction Monday, June 29, closing the route to all traffic. While the route is closed, traffic will be detoured by way of U.S. 50 and Browning Road
The Righter Company was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $268,721 in May, and the scheduled completion date for all work is August 31, 2009.
