Bridge Replacement Slated To Begin On Nipgen Road
Route To Be Closed Next Month
Chillicothe - Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 Deputy Director James A. Brushart has announced plans for a bridge replacement project to get started in early September on County Road 34 (Nipgen Road) in Pike County.
“As part of the department’s commitment to assist local communities maintain their infrastructure, we are working with the Pike County Engineer’s Office to replace the bridge for the preservation of the route, as well as for the safety of the traveling public,” said Brushart.
Located south of the Pike-Ross County line and east of state Route 772, the bridge to be replaced is situated over Hawe Fork Creek in Pebble Township.
Weather permitting, crews from the Parker Corporation of Tuppers Plains, Ohio, will begin construction Tuesday, September 2, closing the route to all traffic. While the route is closed, traffic will be detoured by way of S.R. 772.
The Parker Corporation was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $342,838 in June, and the scheduled completion date for the entire project is October 31, 2008.
