Bridge Replacement Slated To Begin On Worley Mill RoadRoute To Be Closed Next Month
- Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 Deputy Director James A. Brushart has announced plans for a bridge replacement project to get started in early July on County Road 46 (Worley Mill Road) in Highland County.
“As part of the department’s commitment to assist local communities maintain their infrastructure, we are working with the Highland County Engineer’s Office to replace the bridge for the preservation of the route, as well as for the safety of the traveling public,” said Brushart.
Located approximately 3.5 miles north of U.S. Route 50 and just south of state Route 138 and Township Road 315A (Allen Road), the bridge to be replaced is situated over Fall Creek in Paint Township.
Weather permitting, crews from R.B. Jergens Construction of Vandalia, Ohio, will begin construction Monday, July 7, closing the route to all traffic. While the route is closed, traffic will be detoured by way of U.S. 50 and S.R. 753.
R.B. Jergens Construction was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $609,311 in May, and the scheduled completion date for the entire project is September 30, 2008.
