Routes To Be Closed For Construction
Chillicothe (Friday, May 27, 2011) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation’s $16 million construction season in Brown County, two bridge projects are slated to start next week.
On Tuesday, May 31, crews from Coopers Excavating will begin operations to replace a bridge located at the 2.22-mile marker on state Route 123. The project site is located between County Road 46 (Glady Road) and Township Road 103 (Schefsky Road).
Throughout construction, the route will be closed, and traffic will be detoured via U.S. 68 to Midland to S.R. 28 at Blanchester to S.R. 123 in Clinton County. Coopers Excavating was awarded a contract in the amount of $262,851.45 to replace the bridge with a new superstructure.
In a separate project, Complete General Construction has been awarded a $798,494 contract to replace the deck of the bridge located at the 3.28-mile marker on S.R. 131, approximately two miles east of U.S. 50 and just west of U.S. 68. The route will be closed throughout construction as well, and traffic will be detoured via U.S. 50 and U.S. 68.
Complete General Construction is scheduled to begin construction early next week, and both projects have a targeted completion date of August 31.
