Bridges Road Bridge Replacement Concludes
Grimsley Road Project Commences
Chillicothe (Monday, May 21, 2012) – As a bridge replacement project on County Road 11 in Highland County nears completion, operations for the second phase of the project will start today, May 21, on County Road 48.
Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Highland County Engineer’s Office have been replacing a bridge on C.R. 11 (Bridges Road) over Hardins Creek, just south of its junction with state Route 771. With all major construction completed on Bridges Road, the route will be reopened to traffic, and crews from R.B. Jergens will move operations to C.R. 48 (Grimsley Road) for the second part of a two-phase bridge replacement project.
Throughout the day, crews will be moving traffic controls from Bridges Road to Grimsley Road, closing it to traffic between T.R. 296 (Leavertown Road) and C.R. 90 (Old U.S. Route 62). Grimsley Road will be subject to closure for up to 90 days, and while it is closed, motorists will be detoured via Old U.S. 62, U.S. 62, Fairfield Road and Leavertown Road.
R. B. Jergens Contractors of Vandalia, Ohio, was awarded a contract for approximately $730,511 to replace both structures.
