Brown-251 Slated For Pavement Overlay
Operations To Start Next Week
Chillicothe (Friday, August 27, 2010) – Operations for a two-lane resurfacing project are set to begin next week on state Route 251 in Brown County, according to Ohio Department of Transportation District 9 Deputy Director James Brushart.
“Resurfacing projects are necessary to preserve the integrity of a given route, as well as for the safety of the traveling public, so we appreciate motorists’ patience while construction is under way and when crews are at work,” said Brushart.
Beginning the week of August 30, crews from the Shelly Company will begin paving operations on state Route 251 between state Route 123 and the Brown-Clinton County line. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers.
The Shelly Company of Thornville, Ohio, was awarded a contract in May for approximately $442,847, and the scheduled completion date for all work is October 31, 2010.
