Brown-505 Now Open; Route To Be Closed Tomorrow
Series of culvert replacement projects under way
Chillicothe (Tuesday, March 30, 2010) – State Route 505 in Brown County is now open following a one-day culvert replacement project at the route’s 0.01-mile marker; however, the route is subject to closure again tomorrow, March 31, for another culvert replacement.
Throughout April, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility will be undertaking a series of culvert replacements along the route, replacing 25 pipes between U.S. Route 52 at Higginsport and S.R. 125 near Hamersville.
Currently, the route is scheduled to be closed again Wednesday and Thursday this week, with operations taking place at the 0.44 and the 1.02-mile markers, respectively, and the route open to evening and overnight travel.
Each day that a culvert replacement is under way, the route will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and motorists will be detoured via U.S. Route 52 at Higginsport to S.R. 133 and S.R. 125 in Clermont County. The schedule for subsequent closures will be contingent upon the weather and the availability of materials.
