Brown-505 Now Open Following Culvert Project
Route To Be Closed Again Friday
Chillicothe (Thursday, April 1, 2010) – Another culvert replacement project has been completed on state Route 505 in Brown County, and the route is now open to evening and overnight travel.
As part of a series of such projects, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility are replacing culverts along S.R. 505, between U.S. Route 52 at Higginsport and S.R. 125 near Hamersville.
The next one-day project and ensuing closure is scheduled to take place Friday, April 2, with the route closed at the 1.29-mile marker, north of Higginsport, between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Although a fixed schedule for subsequent single-day closures has yet to be fully outlined, crews will be working along the route throughout the month of April as weather and materials permit. Each day that a culvert replacement is under way, the route will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and motorists will be detoured via U.S. Route 52 at Higginsport to S.R. 133 and S.R. 125 in Clermont County.
