Brown-505 Open For Evening, Weekend Traffic
Route Scheduled For Closure Next Week
Chillicothe (Friday, April 9, 2010) – With another culvert replacement project wrapping up today, Brown County’s state Route 505 will be open to traffic through the weekend. However, the route will be subject to daytime closures again next week as crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility continue their efforts to replace a series of 25 pipes along the route.
Throughout April, maintenance forces will be replacing culverts along S.R. 505, between U.S. Route 52 at Higginsport and S.R. 125 near Hamersville, as weather permits, and the route will be subject to single-day closure when crews are at work. Next week, the crews will be working between the 3.0 and the 4.5-mile markers, between Township Road 288 (Williams Road) and County Road 59 (Love Road).
Each day that a culvert replacement is under way, the route will be closed from approximately 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., reopening to evening and overnight travel. During periods of closure, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 52 to S.R. 133 and S.R. 125 in Clermont County. The schedule for each single-day closure will be contingent upon the weather and the availability of materials.
