Brown-505 Remains Closed Following Culvert Collapse
Signal Out At U.S. 52 Slide Repair Project
Chillicothe (Monday, June 14, 2010) -- State Route 505 in Brown County remains closed today, June 14, following a culvert failure that occurred at the 6.9-mile marker over the weekend.
The route was closed late Sunday night, June 13, near its junction with S.R. 756, south of Feesburg, where the culvert and pavement collapsed as a result of heavy rain Saturday and Sunday.
Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility are working to repair the route and restore it to traffic; however, the route will remain closed until all repairs have been completed.
Motorists are being detoured via S.R. 756 to S.R. 133 and S.R. 125 in Clermont County.

Due to a power outage, the traffic signal for a slide repair project on U.S. Route 52 is out of order, and crews are currently flagging traffic.
The project site is located at the route’s 16.16-mile marker, approximately 0.37 miles east of Township Road 232 (Logan Gap Road), between Ripley and Aberdeen.
Contractors for the project will be working to restore the signal to full operation; however, motorists are reminded to exercise additional caution when traveling through the construction zone.
