Brown-505 Scheduled For One-Day Closure This Week
Series of culvert replacement projects on tap for maintenance crews
Chillicothe (March 15, 2010)-- Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility will undertake a culvert replacement project on state Route 505 this week, forcing a one-day closure of the route.
On Thursday, March 18, crews will be replacing a deteriorated culvert at the route’s 5.35-mile, approximately one mile south of the junction with state Route 756 and north of County Road 42B (Barr School House Road).
Beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m., the road will be closed to traffic, and motorists will be detoured via U.S. Route 52 at Higginsport to S.R. 133 and S.R. 125 in Clermont County.
Maintenance crews will also undertake several other culvert replacement projects later this month, as well as in April and May.
Weather permitting, S.R. 251 will be closed on two separate days next week for a pair of culvert replacements between St. Martin and S.R. 123. And then in April, crews will begin a project to replace a series of 25 culverts situated along S.R. 505.
The schedule for these upcoming culvert replacement projects has yet to be determined, as it will be contingent upon the weather and the availability of materials.
