Brown-763 Slide Project Postponed; Route Restricted To One Lane
Drilled Shaft Operations Shifted To S.R. 756 On Tuesday
Chillicothe (Monday, July 20, 2015) – Due to weather-related impacts, a slip repair project on state Route 763 in Brown County has been postponed.
Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility were scheduled to undertake a two-week drilled shaft installation project to repair a slip area at the route’s 1.05-mile marker, just south of County Road 31 (Martin Hill Road).
Although crews were on site today, July 20, to begin operations, high water levels in the adjacent tributary have forced the crews to stop work. In addition, the route is now reduced to one lane in this area where the pavement has been comprised as a result of degradation in the creek.
Maintenance forces will return to the site to repair the slide and pavement; however, the schedule to do so project has yet to be determined and will be contingent upon water levels in the tributary.
With operations shut down on S.R. 763, crews will turn their efforts toward a similar project on S.R. 756. Beginning tomorrow, July 21, and continuing through next week, highway technicians will be installing drilled shafts and repairing a slide at the route’s junction with S.R. 505, south of Feesburg.
Crews will be working 10-hour shifts, closing the route during daytime, working hours and reopening it to evening and overnight travel. The daytime closures will be in effect from approximately 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, and during periods of closure, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 125 and S.R. 133 in Clermont County to S.R. 756 at Felicity. All work associated with this project is anticipated to be completed by Friday, July 31.
