Brown County Bridge Replacement Open For Comment Period
Chillicothe (Wednesday, February
10, 2016) – As part of the Ohio Department of
Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s
Environmental Office is seeking public input on the following bridge
replacement project in Brown County.
(PID: 96309) – It is proposed to replace the
structure over West Fork Ohio Brush Creek on U.S. Route 62 in Eagle Township.
The bridge, which is located between Township Road 201 (Melblanc Road) and
C.R. 23 (Fincastle-Winchester Road), approximately two miles south of the
Highland County line, is a concrete slab bridge, and the new structure will
be a 8X6’ precast concrete box culvert.
The project will require
approximately 0.364 acres of permanent right of way, which is located along
the stream channel, pasture and agricultural fields; however, no trees with
habitat for the federally endangered Indiana bat and federally threatened northern
long-eared bat will be removed for the project.
Issues the public may
wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the
local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by February 24, 2016, or the
deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
