Brown County Crews On Pace
With Slip Repair

Chillicothe (Friday, September 8, 2017) – Crews from the Ohio Department of
Transportation’s Brown County maintenance facility are on pace with an
ongoing slip repair on S.R. 505 and an upcoming culvert replacement on S.R.
S.R. 505 has been closed since August 30 for
crews to repair a slip between
U.S. 52 and County Road 60 (Oak Grove Road). The project site is located just north of Higginsport, and crews
are installing a series of drilled shafts along the shoulder of the route to
repair the slip and secure the pavement.
The project is
scheduled to be completed Thursday, September 14, but while the route remains
closed, motorists will continue to be detoured via U.S. 52, S.R. 133 in
Clermont County and S.R. 756.
As this project wraps up next week, crews will
undertake a two-day culvert replacement on S.R. 131 at the Brown-Highland County line, and the route will
be closed late in the week.
site is situated adjacent to Township Road 521 (Tax Right Road), and the
closure will be in effect from approximately 8 a.m. Thursday, September 14,
to 4 p.m. Friday, September 15; however, completion of the project will be
contingent upon the weather.
