Chillicothe (Friday, June 10, 2016) – During the next two weeks, crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility will be busy replacing culverts on U.S. Route 68 and state Route 505, requiring single-day closures of both routes.
On Tuesday, June 14, crews will be replacing a culvert on U.S. 68 at the route’s 21.68-mile marker, closing the route to traffic just south of C.R. 81 (Wahlsburg East Road) and one mile north of Georgetown. Then on Thursday, June 16, U.S. 68 will again be closed north of Georgetown for a culvert replacement project between Wahlsburg East and T.R. 21 (Shafer Road).
The single-day culvert replacement projects will be in effect from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, and while the route is closed either day, motorists will be detoured via S.R. 774 and S.R. 125.
During the week of June 20, crews will move to S.R. 505, where they will be replacing two deteriorated culverts situated just north and south of S.R. 756. The first project will be Monday, June 20, and S.R. 505 will be closed immediately north of its junction with S.R. 756.
