Brown County Crews Schedule Culvert Replacement Projects
S.R. 353, U.S. 68 Restrictions Next Week
Chillicothe (Wednesday, April 5, 2017) – Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility will undertake a series of culvert replacement projects on two separate routes in the coming week.
Beginning Monday and continuing through Wednesday, April 10-12, state Route 353 will be closed during daytime, working hours for crews to replace three deteriorated culverts situated between the 2.37 and the 2.51-mile markers. The project sites are located between Township Road 227 (Beechwood Road) and T.R. 24 (W. Fork Road), midway between the route’s junction with U.S. 62 at Redoak and S.R. 763/S.R. 125 near Decatur.
S.R. 353 will be closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, with it open to evening and overnight travel, and during periods of closure, traffic will be detoured via U.S. 62 and S.R. 125.
Then on Thursday, April 13, U.S. Route 68 will be reduced to one lane between Township Road 32 (Sunshine Road) and C.R. 81 (Wahlsburg East Road) for a single-day culvert replacement project. The restriction will be in place from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and throughout the day, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers. Motorists may encounter some intermittent periods of delay while crews are at work.
