Brown County Crews To Tackle Culvert Replacements
S.R. 763 Slated For Daytime Closures
Chillicothe - State Route 763 will undergo a series of culvert replacement projects beginning next week, and the route will be subject to daytime-only closure when operations are under way.
According to Transportation Administrator Barry Daniels, there are 12 deteriorated culverts situated between the 4.69-mile marker near County Road 49 (Bradysville Road) and the 11.47-mile markers, south of state Route 125, which need to be replaced. The culvert replacements are in preparation for a resurfacing project that is scheduled for construction this summer.
Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Brown County Highway Maintenance Facility will be working from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays as weather permits, with the first project scheduled to get under way at the 4.69-mile marker on Monday, March 30. As the project progresses, operations will continue to move north each day, from the 7.98-mile marker, just south of County Road 106 (Suck Run Road), to the 11.47-mile marker, between County Road 102 (Huff Hill Road) and S.R. 125.
Throughout each replacement project, the route will be closed, and motorists will be detoured by way of state routes 41 and 125. All work is anticipated to be completed by April 10.
