Closure Planned For Carr’s Run Bridge Replacement
Project Slated To Start This Month
Chillicothe (Friday, May 6, 2011) – Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will undertake a bridge replacement project on County Road 56 (Carr’s Run Road) in Pike County, with closure of the route going in effect later this month.
On Monday, May 16, Carr’s Run Road will be closed to traffic for up to 90 days as crews replace the bridge located over Carr’s Run at the 4.6-mile marker, approximately 1.4 miles south of S.R. 335.
“Bridge replacement projects such as this are necessary for the safety of motorists and the preservation of our routes, both on and off the state highway system, and we are pleased to be working with Denny Salisbury and the Pike County Engineer’s Office,” said ODOT District 9 Deputy Director Vaughn Wilson.
Foill, Inc. was awarded a contract in March in the amount of $398,646 to replace the deteriorated structure, and throughout construction, motorists will be detoured locally via T.R. 514 (Ervin Hill Road), T.R. 523 (Buck Hollow Road) and S.R. 335.
All work is scheduled to be completed by July 31, 2011.
