Comment Period Available For Adams-41 Culvert Rehab

Chillicothe (Friday, August 1, 2014) As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on the following proposed project in Adams County.

Adams County – ADA-41-31.77 (PID: 91408) The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate the existing culvert at the 31.77-mile marker on state Route 41, approximately two miles north of S.R. 73, in Franklin Township. The existing culvert is a corrugated metal plate arch, and it will be lined with pre-cast reinforced round sections on cast-in-place strip footings on bedrock. Some small trees and bushes will be removed as part of the project; however, none of the trees have the habitat for the federally endangered Indiana Bat. No right of way will be needed for the project, and no homes or businesses will be removed.

Additional information regarding the project, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx. Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources.
