Comment Period Available For Lake White Project
The proposed project is a combined effort between ODOT and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to rehabilitate state Route 104 and improve the Lake White Dam. For its part of the project, ODOT will be replacing the existing bridge on S.R. 104, reconstructing the highway by widening S.R. 104, constructing turn lanes at S.R. 551 and S.R. 552, and improving the intersection of S.R. 104 and County Road 105 (Forest Hills Road).
The ODNR portion of the project will include making improvements to the dam to ensure regulatory requirements, reinforcing the west bank of S.R. 104, completing the lake drain, armoring the upstream face of the dam with riprap and relocating a portion of Crooked Creek.
Bid letting has been scheduled for May 2016; however, ODOT and ODNR are working to expedite the project to an earlier sale date.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by October 14, 2014, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
