Comment Period Available For S.R. 140 Bridge Project
(Friday, October 10, 2014) – As part of the Ohio Department of
Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s
Environmental Office is seeking public input on the following proposed
project on state Route 140 in Scioto County.
SCI-140-9.73 (PID: 87331)
The proposed project is to replace the structure over Frederick Creek on S.R.
140 in Bloom Township of Scioto County. Built in 1931 and located just east
of County Road 17 (Frederick Road), the existing structure is a single-span,
concrete slab bridge with a concrete substructure, and it will be replaced
with a 10x6-foot, reinforced concrete culvert.
project will require approximately 0.179 acres of permanent right of way,
which is located along the stream channel. No homes or businesses will be
removed by the project, and no trees that have habitat for the federally
endangered Indiana Bat will be removed.
