Comment Period Open For S.R. 774 Bridge Replacement
Chillicothe (Monday, October 21, 2019) – As part of the Ohio
Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s
Environmental Office is seeking public input for a bridge replacement project on state Route 774 in Brown County.
BRO-774-10.56 (PID: 104880) - It is proposed to replace the
structure on SR 774 at the 10.56 mile mark in Brown County, Ohio. The project
is located in the rural area of Pike Township.
The existing structure is a single span haunched reinforced concrete rigid
frame structure on spread footings in rock. The new structure will be a single
span composite beam with concrete deck and reinforced concrete semi-integral
abutments on drilled shafts. The existing structure was built in 1947.
Sterling Run is a perennial stream that is in the Ohio River drainage basin.
Within the project area Long Creek has drainage area of 26.3 mi².
No new right-of-way will be needed for the project. No homes or businesses
will be removed by the project.
SR 774 will be closed for the duration of the project. The detour route will
be determined at a later date.
The funding for the project is 80% Federal and 20% State. The environmental
commitment date is 4/1/2020. The project is currently expected to be awarded
