Comment Period Established For C.R. 4 Slide Project
Chillicothe (Friday, February 26, 2016) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on the following bridge replacement project on County Road 4 in Pike County.
PIK-CR4-3.98 (PID: 101423) – It is proposed to correct landslide damage on C.R. 4 (Pike Lake Road) in Benton Township. The project site is located immediately south of the Pike-Ross County line, and cosntruction will include installing drilled shaft retaining walls, pavement overlay, culvert replacement and guardrail replacement. The project will require approximately 0.025 acres of permanent right of way located along the stream channel and forested slope. No homes or businesses will be removed; however, one tree with habitat for the federally endangered Indiana bat and the federally threatened northern long-eared bat will be removed as a result.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by March 11, 2016, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
