Comment Period Open For Brown-505 Bridge
(Wednesday, October 31, 2018) – As part of the Ohio Department
of Transportation – District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s
Environmental Office is seeking public input for a bridge replacement project
on state Route 505 in Brown County.
(PID: 105099) – The proposed project is
to replace the structure located at the 5.50-mile marker, at the route’s
junction with T.R. 297 (Bramel Road) and approximately one mile south of the route’s
junction with S.R. 756 in Lewis Township. The existing structure is a 42-inch
corrugated metal pipe, and the new structure will be a 42-inch Type A smooth
conduit with half-height wingwalls.
The project will require
approximately 0.275 acres of permanent right of way; however, no homes or
businesses will be removed as a result of construction, and the project will
not affect any rivers, streams, wetlands or other water bodies. Currently, a
contract is scheduled anticipated to be awarded in the winter of 2020, and a
closure of the route may be required during some phases of construction.
