Comment Period Open For Brown County Culvert Project
BRO-52-11.51 (PID: 97239) – It is proposed to abandon the structure located on U.S. 52 at the 11.51-mile marker, between Township Road 596 (Cornick Run Road) and County Road 30 (Old U.S. Route 68). Bulkheads will be added to the inlet and outlet of the structure, and then it will be filled with low strength mortar. The structure, which was built in 1930, spans Cornick Run; however, a replacement culvert located upstream at the route’s 11.56-mile marker was built later at a higher elevation to better accommodate water levels.
The project will require 0.027 acres of temporary right of way; however, no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of this project. A contract is anticipated to be awarded in the spring of 2017, and closure of the roadway may be necessary to complete the project.
