Comment Period Open For Upcoming Area Projects
Ross County – ROS-159-4.33 (PID: 93325) – The proposed project will upgrade the intersection of state Route 159 at Kenworth Drive and Adena Drive in Ross County. The project includes the addition of a northbound lane on S.R. 159; a right-turn lane on Kenworth Drive; an eastbound lane on Adena Drive; and a right-turn lane on S.R. 159 into the Kenworth plant receiving driveway. The project will require approximately 5.49 acres of permanent right of way, which is located along mowed lawns and forested slope. Some trees will be removed as part of the roadway reconstruction portion of the project; however, none of the trees have habitat for the federally endangered Indiana Bat.
Highland County – HIG-TR 225-1.26/2.84 (PID: 89233) – The proposed project is the replacement of two bridges on Township Road 225 in Highland County and includes the relocation of the intersection with T.R. 226 (Ervin Road).
The first bridge to be replaced is situated at the 1.26-mile marker on T.R. 225A (Holladay Road) in New Market Township. It is a single-span, steel beam bridge with timber deck and asphalt overlay, and it will be replaced with a similar structure and on a new alignment with T.R. 226. The realignment is to correct horizontal and vertical deficiencies and provide better site distance at the T.R. 225 and T.R. 226 intersection. The second bridge, which is located at the 2.84-mile marker on T.R. 225B (Tolle Road) in Liberty Township, will be replaced with a concrete box culvert on the same alignment.
The project will require approximately 0.766 acres of permanent right of way and 2.908 acres of temporary right of way, all of which are located in pasture fields, cultivated fields, mowed residential lawns and wooded areas.
Additional information regarding either project, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx.
