Comment Period Open For Highland-785 Project
Chillicothe (Thursday, August 25, 2016) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on a bridge replacement project in Highland County.
HIG-785-2.67 (PID: 102005) – It is proposed to replace the structure over Rock Lick Creek on state Route 785 in Highland County. The project site is situated immediately east of Township Road 186 (Burgess Road), between S.R. 247 and S.R. 73, and the roadway and existing structure were damaged during a flood event on August 17, 2016.
The project will not require any new right of way, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of the project. As this was deemed as an Emergency Type-A, no plans will be developed for the project, and the route is currently closed.
Issues the public may wish to comment on include the effect on local residents, air quality, the local economy, and historic or cultural resources. Written comments should be submitted by September 8, 2016, or the deadline date that is posted on the web site, to:
Greg Manson, ODOT District 9 Environmental Supervisor
