Comment Period Open For Highland County Bridge Replacement
Chillicothe (Friday, December 23, 2016) – As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation – District 9’s Planning & Engineering Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input on a bridge replacement project in Highland County.
HIG-134-14.43 (PID: 98014) – It is proposed to replace the existing three-span, steel beam structure over Dodson Creek on S.R. 134 with a reinforced concrete bridge. The project site is located at the 14.43-mile marker, between Township Road 120 (Crampton Road) and T.R. 119 (Keir Road), just north of the junction with U.S. 50 and approximately two miles south of Lynchburg. The project also includes the construction of a 50-foot retaining wall.
No new right of way will be required, and no homes or businesses will be removed as a result of this project. A contract is anticipated to be awarded in the winter of 2018, and closure of the roadway may be necessary to complete the project. Additional information, including a complete description, maps and plans sheets, is available online at www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D09/Pages/Public-Involvement-Process.aspx.
